Tell us about the foundation for the business firm and the addition.

This is non "normal".
Something has to have moved for that to have bowed out that far.
Is that A picture of the inside?

Could exist heaving on the paneling without allowance for expansion/contraction.
Of course sometimes when I see this, I immediately look for moisture behind the paneling as it could be warping from moisture.

A panoramic photograph from the "snowfall" to in a higher place the fascia at that corner may be of assistance.

I dont know besides much about it every bit we bought the house in Baronial and this is our first winter in it. The foundation for the house is a concrete walk out. The addition was tacked onto the backside of the house on the exterior and in that location is a similar room below it (basement walk out). Both the upstairs and downstairs of the addition practice not have direct heating/cooling only returns.

At first await I idea it was frost heave, annihilation look wrong in the basement?
If finished space, new cracks downwardly there likewise.
Unfinished expect for new cracks in foundation or betwixt former and new.

I dont know too much most information technology as we bought the business firm in August and this is our kickoff winter in it. The foundation for the house is a concrete walk out. The improver was tacked onto the backside of the house on the exterior and there is a like room below it (basement walk out). Both the upstairs and downstairs of the addition do non take directly heating/cooling only returns.

Does the photo evidence the inside corner of the add-on wall and the housewall?

At first look I thought it was frost heave, anything look wrong in the basement?
If finished space, new cracks down in that location too.
Unfinished look for new cracks in foundation or between one-time and new.

Cheers for the quick response Neal. The basement space looks ok and seams to be holding a practiced temp peradventure about 60 inside (exterior temp is 3 deg F). I have added a few more pictures of the basement. There are some minor gaps where the addition and house come together at the trim. I also took a few shots from the side balcony where you tin encounter the wood shake add-on coming out from the business firm. Lastly there is a close up pic of that upper corner from the outside of the house. At that place appears to exist a small gap where the improver and woods shakes meets the master house (picture is turned on its side)

We ever wait the worst which would be the outside foundation not being deep enough for the frost in y'all surface area merely it could be something much less.
Walls do shrink in tiptop and that panel might take been cutting just a little to long.
Wet 2x4s are as much as one 5/8 thick and volition shrink to one 1/ii" and you have three in a normal wall so the wall could shrink three/eight".
In that location is actually not plenty damage to know what is happening for sure.

Thanks Neal. How would y'all suggest I trouble shoot this ane. Is my best bet to take the paneling off to get a closer look? Or have a general contractor come out and take a peek?

I would exit it for a while and come across what it does.
I am non sure there would be annihilation to see to get a good idea of what is happening.
Frost heaves have a fairly long deep freeze for the frost to work under the foundation. More damage would be on it'due south style and you lot would not consider a set until spring.
